Sophie's Story...
Meet Sophie! A 10 year old Beagle/ Australian Cattle Dog mix who is retired from therapy work, looking for her own personal family to relax with. When she came into rescue she was extremely overweight. Her first foster mommy made sure she put Sophie on a healthy food program and Sophie has lost about half her body weight! She still weighs 40 pounds so her new family will have to help her maintain and make sure she gets her daily walk. Sophie is super low maintenance and has a more independent nature. She is very house broken but would probably like a doggy door so that she can explore the beautiful outdoors from time to time. She is getting a little hard of hearing and has learned hand signals to adapt. She loves people more than animals so would best as the only animal and little kids may be a little too overwhelming for her. Sophie is in her twilight years and would prefer someone also more mature. If you're a family of one, she will be devoted and the best car ride buddy ever. If you're a couple with grown children, she will love being part of the action. No matter who you are, Sophie is ready to love you and be your best friend. Contact us to meet this sweetie!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sophie, a Council Bluffs Beagle/Australian Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle/Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Council Bluffs, or seeking a Beagle/Australian Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Council Bluffs.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Council Bluffs already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Council Bluffs breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle/Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Beagle/Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Council Bluffs paves the way for another one to be saved.
