GARRETT's Story...
GARRETT is a young blue heeler/lab mix who was abandoned and left to starve with several other dogs at a remote rural property. We estimate his date of birth to be March 2013. He is neutered, fully-vaccinated, de-wormed and heartworm negative. He is current on monthly flea, tick and heartworm preventives. Despite his rough start, Garrett has a happy, upbeat attitude and always greets with a smile and a body wag. He is friendly, affectionate, and focused on his human. He is quite active, still very much a puppy and loves to play with toys and the other dogs at his foster home. Garrett is fully-grown at about 45 lb. and has a short, shiny, dense coat. His behaviors are very "heeler", so he might be a bit overwhelming for small children, but he would be great with older children who can handle his activity level. He is house-trained (using a doggie door), crate-trained and is still learning to walk on-leash, so he'll need a fenced yard in the meantime. Garrett is quite smart, eager-to-please and very trainable. He will sit for a treat and do just about anything for a MilkBone. He also obeys commands for "back" and "stay". This is a courtesy posting. This dog is not affiliated with P.S. I Love You! Animal Rescue but is fostered by another party. For more information, please contact Janel Miller at dogrefuge@gmail.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

GARRETT, a Cranford Blue Heeler/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Blue Heeler/Labrador Retriever for sale in Cranford, or seeking a Blue Heeler/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Cranford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cranford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cranford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Blue Heeler/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Blue Heeler/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cranford paves the way for another one to be saved.
