Katie Kitty's Story...
Hi, I’m Katie Kitty. I was abandoned by my owners when I was 2 years old and left to fend for myself. A kind neighbor looked after me and fed before contacting CARE to see if they could help me find me a forever home. Now I am about 5 years old, spayed & up to date on shots. I’m a sweet kitty and I “chirp” instead of meow. I love to be brushed, and hop onto laps but I only stay as long as I want to. I’m glad to be in a wonderful foster home, but it’s just not the same as having a forever home. Won’t you please take me home with me?

Please call CARE @ (804) 288-9797 and ask my foster mom Kathryn all about me.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Katie Kitty, a Richmond Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
