Timber's Story...
Timber is a 5 month old dachshund/heeler mix who currently weighs between 15-20 pounds. Timber is not as short as a dachshund and will most likely be on the small side of medium when full grown. He has the most luxurious coat which will beckon your fingers to touch him as often as you can. Timber is a mild mannered puppy who enjoys snuggling on the couch and giving kisses for no reason other than his own happiness. He adores the children in the home and will roll over
for a belly rub at will. He is a submissive pup who likes hanging out with the big dogs and is scared of the resident cats. This little guy is hoping for more snow because he just can't get enough! He will make a good running buddy or be happy as your couch companion after a good romp in the yard. Timber is being introduced to housebreaking and crate training. He is being fostered in Hanover, PA and is up to date on vaccinations.
We are a local all breed rescue PA Caring for K-9's. We rescue most of our dogs from high kill shelters. We cannot adopt out dogs to a home with dogs that are not fixed or up to date on shots. Our adoption fee is $275 and goes directly to saving the lives of more dogs. We are an all volunteer organization and we are always looking for more help. Learn more about adopting from us or apply directly online at www.pack9rescue.org or check us out on facebook for more information and a complete list of dogs available for adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Timber, a New Oxford Dachshund/Blue Heeler puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Blue Heeler for sale in New Oxford, or seeking a Dachshund/Blue Heeler puppy from a breeder in New Oxford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New Oxford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New Oxford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Blue Heeler breeders who help with Dachshund/Blue Heeler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New Oxford paves the way for another one to be saved.
