Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Travis! He is one awesome, easy-going guy, probably a little more than a year old, who looks as if he has a little Dachshund in his face and body but not in his legs. He has warm amber eyes and a super soft black coat with a little brown and copper brindle mixed in for interest. He is light on his feet weighing only 20 lbs. Travis came to us from a dreadful shelter in rural TN where a dog's only hope comes when a rescue is able to save him. Poor Travis spent nearly a month in that awful place before we were able to free him, and he has never looked back. He is playful and inquisitive without being obnoxious and loves to cuddle and be petted without being too needy. This sweet boy sleeps in a crate at night in his fosters' bedroom and doesn't make a peep until it's time to get up in the morning. He is working on his house training and is doing well, so far. Travis has an energetic side to him, and has this unique ability to hop almost straight up in the air on all fours. He mostly does this at the start of a walk on the leash. Maybe it's his warm-up? Once he gets going for a minute or two, he walks just fine! We think he could make a great running or walking companion and would enjoy taking some hikes in the woods or jogs in the park with you. He gets along well with the other dogs at his foster home, being a young dog, he is always trying to get them to play with him. Travis is not very good with cats, since he thinks they should always be ready to play with him or be his play toys. He would be a great family dog - gentle with children but always up for a game of fetch or tag in the back yard. When it's quiet time, Travis would be just as happy curled up with you as you read or watch a movie. Just a little toy to snuggle with and an occasional pat or two on the back would be nice!
