Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi
My name is Buddy and I am looking for a home. I had a family once but they did not take care of me and I got lost in the big East Texas Piney woods. Chasing squirrels is fun for a while but like all Jacks, I need my people. I wandered around lost and afraid until a good Samaritan found me curled up and freezing in the icy rain. A rescue group took me in and had me vetted. The vet thinks I am about 7 and weigh about 18 lbs. People say I am the perfect size. Don't be put off by my age - Jacks can live to be 16 or so and stay very active. I heard that the Jack in the movie the Artist was 10 when his person rescued him and look what he accomplished. I have a little back leg limp from an old injury but the vet said I have adapted well and it certainly does not hinder me when I follow you and patrol the yard to keep out intruding vermin. I may have a little problem hearing but that won't stop me for loving you. I will be neutered before I am adopted. Not to brag, but I am a Jack Russell so I am pretty smart and resourceful and curious. I need a secure yard to keep my resourcefulness and curiosity in check so I will stay safe. I have been alone enough.
My rescue says I am good with humans and with other dogs. I am house broken and do not bark excessively. I am heartworm negative -- yea.
My only wish is for a loving, safe home where I can spend my days walking with you or chasing squirrels and then spending evenings curled up in your lap or on a warm bed. Please consider adopting me and giving me my forever home. I will be so grateful.
Sincerely and hopefully,
Buddy
