My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

JoJo is a reserved 1-2 years old tri-colored male Border Collie Mix with a smooth coat with prick ears. Our best guess is that he is mixed with Australian Cattle Dog. JoJo came into the shelter with Jody, and we believe that they are related. He is much more timid than his sister. JoJo was not socialized at all and was weary of people when he first came into our program. He is as sweet as can be and is looking for his special someone to boost his confidence with positive reinforcement training.

JoJo is a submissive male and could be placed as an only dog. He does enjoy being with other dogs and is well socialized with them. JoJo walks decently on a leash now, but is bothered by loud noises. He needs obedience training. He is crate trained, however, he has had some potty incidents in his crate, so he is housebroken at this point. He also takes a soft command since he is so sensitive. He could use some confidence building through some positive reinforcement obedience training. JoJo is a typical male for this breed, as he is extremely affectionate and loyal--he wants to bond tightly with his human. JoJo can adapt to activity--it just depends on what you ask of him. One minute he's out romping around, and then the next he settles right down next to you. JoJo can be a bit nervous, and will pace a bit until he settles down. Because a lot of stimulus is hard on him, a quieter household without small children would be best suited for him. He would be well suited for an individual that goes to dog parks or likes to exercise with a dog by your side. JoJo rides very well in the car and gets along well with other dogs. We think you will agree with us that once you meet him, you will find him irresistible. JoJo is definitely a best friend candidate as he would make a really nice canine companion.

If you are interested in meeting our dogs, please go on line and fill out an adoption application. We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled. The electronic application can be found on our website at http://www.bordercolliesinneed.org/border_collie_rescue_and_adoptions/adoption_application.html
