My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Vicki is a 1-2 year old female Border Collie. She looks like she is black and white in the photos, however, she does have some sable markings on her cheeks and on her legs, so she considered to be tri-colored. She has a semi rough coat with some mottling on her face and prick ears. We believe that she is Christy’s sister as they came into the shelter together. Vicki has a sweet personality but is a dominate female and picks on her sister, as some same sex siblings will do. She has been with other dogs, and since she tends to be dominant with other female dogs, we recommend opposite gender placement. Her foster mom owns other females, yet Vicki rather quickly attempted to climb the hierarchical pack, but was put in her place without issue. She has not been aggressive with other female dogs, as she will play with Jody and others. She will tow the line and mind her p’s and q’s when told to by her foster mom. Vicki is more outgoing than her sister and fast. She is bothered by cats, so a home without them is required.

Vicki is a true gem, but at this stage, she is a diamond in the rough. She was not leash broken, however, she now can walk decently on a leash, but is bothered by loud noises. She also rides well in the car. She is quite active and her personality is more out going than Christy's. Vicki is looking for action and her energy level is above average. Vicki will need to be exercised on a daily basis and then follow up with mental stimulation. This little gal needs a job to do to keep her balanced and being destructive..

Vicki is a sweet dog and craves attention from her foster mom. Vicki wants to forge a bond with her person and be a canine partner. She loves to have tummy rubs and is affectionate. Vicki is not a good choice for the 1st time dog or BC owner. She would be best suited in a home with herding breeding experience, and her own person wanting to partner with and forge a bond with her, and one who is committed to challenging the herding breeds.
