My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Snickers was rescued from a home that couldn't..or didn't choose to..care for him. This was not a safe or nurturing situation for the world's greatest Dachshund. One thing that was clear was that he had been loved at one time...he couldn't possibly have this fantastic temperament if he had never known a kind home. But something had gone terribly wrong for Snickers...and so he sat in a scary, dark room ..disrespected and unwanted. Farfel's...with the help of our great OK rescuer...knew that Snickers had to be saved from his situation. Save him we did..and he trotted so happily from the filthy house...never looking back...and confident that another great home was in his future. Snickers deserves a super-loving home and a committed forever family. He is an absolutely precious chestnut/black/white Dachshund who is just about perfect. At about 3.5 - 4 years old and 10 lbs, Snickers is exactly what a great Doxie is about - he's very curious because he's exceptionally smart without being hyper or annoying. Even though Doxie's have the reputation of being a bit yappy...not this guy. He's quiet and non-vocal. He couldn't be more loving with kids (we feel they should be old enough to have the skills to be gentle and kind to a small guy like Snickers.) Snickers also enjoys other dogs who aren't rambunctious and understand that a Dachshund is not the greatest athlete on the block. But he does have one of the best personalities! His heart is so filled with love that he wants to share it with everyone he meets. He's a very easy-going and low-maintenance kind of guy...he's perfectly housetrained and is so pleasant and portable that he would be a perfect companion for anyone who would give him tons of love and respect. In return..there couldn't be a more loyal companion. He would be overjoyed with a permanent family who enjoyed spending time..it could be walks, visiting dog-loving friends or just hanging out on the couch. They couldn't help but appreciate the excellent dog he is! He will never disappoint...he'll be the most devoted and cuddly best friend anyone could ever have. He deserves it because he gives back a thousand percent. Snickers is a barely-shedding type of dog due to his very short coat...he will require periodic baths/brushing and great nutrition to keep his silky/shiny coat healthy. Snickers will be arriving on transport in Denver in early March. Applications are currently being accepted for this loving and exceptional family companion.
