This precious girl was dumped in a neighborhood where a resident was threatening to shoot her. Penelope is a sweet and affectionate girl, who obviously loves to play! Despite her size, she thinks she is a little girl, as she loves to get into a lap. Her ears and tails are cropped in such a way that lets us know this was not done by a vet, and implies that whoever had her either used or intended to use her for fighting or as a bait dog. However, her beautiful face will make you fall in love with her. Penelope is selective about which dogs she likes so it will probably be better for her to be an only pet. Penelope is eagerly looking for her perfect forever home. Please note that Penelope is being fostered in Tennessee; therefore, you would not be able to meet her prior to adoption. The $400 adoption fee covers the cost of spaying, all immunizations and transport to your area.

About The Downtown Dogs Group NE

About Our Rescue Group...

The Downtown Dogs Group is a small rescue group. While we have many highly adoptable dogs and puppies, we do also take dogs typically deemed "unadoptable" by other rescues for reasons such as age, breed or medical problems. We are a NO-KILL rescue and do not euthanize except in cases of severe, painful and non-treatable medical conditions.

Our Adoption Process...

Potential adopters should contact the group for an application, and will undergo a screening process. Adoption fees vary but will include the cost of a transport to your area. Currently, all dogs are being fostered in TN; therefore, it is not possible to meet your pet prior to adoption. We have facilitated many adoptions through northern rescues and shelters. The process works very well, and is utilized by many rescues in the South. We use several dog transports that are very experienced and there are several New England stops from which to choose. Your pet will arrive current on vaccinations and already spayed/neutered. Thank you for your interest in our pets and for giving us a chance to adopt our babies out to wonderful families.
