Meet gorgeous Tuscany! Tuscany was named because of her silky, soft, orangey-reddish-brown coat. She has a dark charcoal mask on her face which enhances the expression in her eyes. He fur is unbelievably soft and she loves to be pet. Her foster mom says she loves to snuggle up next to her on the couch in front of the fire while she gets belly rubs. Tuscany has an endearing personality and always greets everyone with a smile. A smile in dog language is a happily wagging tail while sort of stomping her feet in place until you actually pet her. You can practically see her positive energy exuding from her body. Tuscany is house-trained and does really great when she is put in a routine. A dog who adapts in a routine is great, especially if you go to work or enjoy going for a daily run. She is a loyal, loyal girl who loves being with her human. Be prepared to give her a lot of love because she is starved for affection. You can never give her enough hugs and kisses. She is gracious about accepting the love without being overwhelming. She appreciates anything she gets and will happily reciprocate her love back. Tuscany will need a lot of exercise and loves to go for walks, hikes, or even runs. She remembers what life was like behind bars and lives life as if it's her last day. If you are ready to open your home to a loyal companion, please contact Terri at terrileeddrl@gmail.com.
Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:
Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)
NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
