Egypt **I'm Overlooked!!**'s Story...
One of the facts of volunteering in a shelter that makes us all very sad are the cats that for one reason or another by no fault of their own get overlooked by adopters month after month and nobody can figure out why? Egypt is one of the cats in our shelter that this very thing has happened to. Egypt is a young 1 year old pretty tuxedo that has been in our shelter for 9 months! The sad part is that Egypt has so much love and affection just waiting for her new owner if she could just find one willing to take her home! Egypt loves her people and is very sweet and affectionate with you once she gets to know you and is a fantastic companion. She will follow you all over being an excellent buddy keeping her presence where ever you are. She also loves a canned cat food treat every now and then. The best we can figure that has hindered Egypt being adopted up until this point is that she does not show well at adoption day!!!!! She hates adoption day and her entire countenance shows it! We think it scares adopters away. We really want someone to see her in her home environment where she is her normal happy self. The other thing that may be deterring adopters is that while Egypt is super duper sweet and affectionate she does have a very small portion of a strong opinion and there are rare moments where her owner needs to be aware of her body language and know that she is done being petted. What her foster Mom wants to mention though that adopters may not realize that this is a VERY SMALL part of her personality and that she is 95% all sweetness and only about 5% quirky. Also her foster Mom and Dad actually adore that 5% of her personality and really think you will too as they say it gives her personality, character, and charm! They have stated that they have become so attached to her that they would keep her if they didn't have 6 cats already which by the way she is fine with their cats along with their dogs provided she is introduced properly. Egypt has perfect litter box habits and has no health issues. If you are looking for a perfect companion and like a interactive affectionate individual then please consider Egypt!
