Here's Sammy! He came to ESRA several months ago with a lot to learn, and he has done so well that his foster mom says he is ready for his own family. Sammy was found as a stray, and it's unknown whether he ever had a family. We do know that he has made great progress since he first arrived in his foster home as an adolescent pup, having now been housetrained, crate trained, and fully vetted.
Sammy's foster mom says that his ideal family would contain older kids, as he still jumps up when he gets excited and may therefore be too energetic for younger children. Another dog in the household would be great for Sammy, too, as he loves to play and isn't fond of being left alone. Like any typical Springer, Sammy is happiest when his people are home with him.
Sammy comes when he is called, walks nicely on a leash, and travels well. He will do best with a family who can continue to work with him and remind him that toilet paper and tissues aren't for eating!
