found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, and good with kids.
Snoopy is a happy boy with simple needs -- a person to love and play with, a comfy bed, and a second chance at a home to call his own. Super-friendly, very quick to learn, and playful -- loves everyone he meets, and we think he'd enjoy kids, too! He befriended over a dozen dogs while in the program, and would live happily with another friendly dog with nice social skills.
While at the prison, he regularly visited the mental health ward at the prison, relishing every moment of attention from one and all.
Snoopy is 5-6 years old, though he acts younger. He's about 58 lbs. He's been with us since 8/29/13!!
Snoopy has learned sit, down, stay, come, touch, leave it, and is great about crating. His loose-leash walking is usually very good. He is also building quite a trick repertoire, including paw, pout, step right up, figure-8 weaving between legs, and say your prayers! Also plays a bit of fetch. He accepts bathing well, allows nail clipping without fuss, is good in the car, and behaves well at vet visits.
On 1/2/14, Snoopy happened to run into 2 small girls in the vet's office lobby and his whole body wagged with glee. We rarely know the history of our dogs prior to them joining the program, but it sure looks like Snoopy enjoyed kids in his former life.
When briefly adopted, he was way to intensely interested in a resident cat, so it's best he be in a cat-free home.
Snoopy is receiving obedience training at a Virginia correctional center. To learn more about the Pen Pals program, please visit our website at www.fetchacure.com.
