Hank's Info...

I am already neutered and up to date with shots.

Hank's Story...
Hank is a three year old neutered Weimaraner that needs an active and loving home. He is up to date on his shots (as of July 2013). Hank has a lot of energy and needs lots of room to run, but will need a fenced in yard so he doesn't run away or get lost. Hank has grown up with a Boston Terrier so he thinks he is a lap dog. He doesn't realize how big he is. He loves to cuddle on the couch and sleep under a blanket in bed.

Hank doesn't realize his size and may unintentionally knock over small children. He would not be recommended for a home with small kids or elderly. He is not aggressive and wouldn't hurt anyone intentionally though. With a little training and a lot of love Hank would be a great addition to the right family.

****His adoption fee is $295.****

The Animal Rescue Project ( is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed.

All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws.

Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $25 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization.

The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hank, a Kalamazoo Weimaraner dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Weimaraner for sale in Kalamazoo, or seeking a Weimaraner dog from a breeder in Kalamazoo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Kalamazoo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Kalamazoo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Weimaraner breeders who help with Weimaraner rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Kalamazoo paves the way for another one to be saved.
