I am housetrained and not good with cats.

Fred's Story...
Friendly Fred came to the Hazel Park shelter as a stray. He was originally found by an elderly couple whom he befriended. They did not know how he would get along with their cat, and how their cat would get along with him, so they kept him outside and gave the ACO a call. He was a little leery of the Animal Control Officer at first, but as soon as she asked if he wanted to go for a car ride, she was his best friend.
Fred loves to play with his squeaky ball. He will play fetch too! Fred is a real lover. All he wants to do is cuddle, and loves to give you kisses. He is always excited to meet people. He knows how to sit on command and knows what car rides are, so someone had given him a loving home, and it is a wonder that no one ever came looking for this adorable dog. He seems to do well with other dogs, but he has issues with cats, so a home without cats is a must. You will definitely want to meet him and take him home with you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fred, a Hazel Park American Staffordshire Terrier/Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier/Boxer for sale in Hazel Park, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier/Boxer dog from a breeder in Hazel Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hazel Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hazel Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier/Boxer breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier/Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hazel Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
