My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Milo is a young, small (20 lb.) male Beagle found as a stray in southern Ohio. He was underweight and treated for parasites, but today is healthy, happy, and active and looking for someone to love him.
Milo wakes up every morning with joy and tail-wags, and goes to sleep each night with a sigh of contentment. In between times, he is a constant companion to his foster mom and inquisitive about everything--What’s that in the closet? How do you make that toy squeak? Is that food on the counter? He’s also . . . ahem, a bit of a thief. Everything from gloves, socks, slippers, snow boots, and even large floor pillows “disappear,” only to reappear in his bed! Yet for all of his thievery, he is not the least bit destructive, sneaky, or possessive with his loot.
Milo’s entertaining antics sometimes show a sense of humor and how clever he is. One morning, he stuck his head inside a purloined slipper and scooted it around the room! He can find a treat in any pocket, pop a latch on a gate, and in 2 minutes flat extricate himself from his winter coat! He is an active dog with youthful --joyful!--energy, but adapts to the activity around him: if those around him are calm and quiet, so is he. If the toys come out, he's ready to play. Although he has shown some mild separation anxiety, he otherwise barks only when there's a reason to, and is quiet in the house.
This handsome little guy is exceptionally smart, having quickly learned the household routine, house training, crate-training, and even some basic commands (come, stay, sit). He’s also fast on his feet, and enjoys flying around the yard at warp speed. His intelligence and athleticism, coupled with his desire to please, would make Milo a great obedience or agility dog, and his love for squeaker toys makes him a perfect candidate for clicker training. But above all else, his love for cuddles, back scratches, and belly rubs, and his sweet and affectionate nature make him an ideal dog for a kind, loving, and caring family.
This is a dog who loves to be loved, and would thrive in an active home where someone was with him during the day. He is a great outdoor explorer and fence inspector, and as such, needs a very secure fenced-in yard. He clearly loves the companionship of other dogs (even the crabby senior terrier in his foster home), but most of all he wants the companionship of his humans. Milo is a very loving, gentle, good-natured, fun-loving fellow, and he needs someone just like him. Is that you?
