My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

One word to describe Bandit, AWESOME!

This dog is a lover. He was owner surrendered to a very small rural shelter where his chances of adoption were slim. His hair and eyes were dull from bad nutrition, you could tell he had fleas very badly in the recent past and his nails were so long that he could barely walk. We got him into the rescue and noticed his ears were horribly infected and had been like that for a long time. This wonderful, loving, happy boy was in a lot of pain and it didn't faze him a bit. He was just happy to be loved, safe and warm.

After taking him to the vet, our fear was confirmed. He was heartworm positive. Poor guy probably spent a lot of time outside.

At his last vet appointment (2/19) his ears were completely healed, he has no fleas and the vet is amazed at how bright his eyes are and how great his skin and coat look. He’s the sweetheart of the vet staff and everyone comes to see him because he is just so sweet.

He is a good boy who gets along with everyone. He has energy and wants to play, but calms down when told. He is completely house trained and lets you know when he needs to go outside. He is off leash trained and he knows SIT, SHAKE and COME. He goes into his crate on command. He is a big boy but he could not be more gentle. He and his best friend, a stuffed purple dinosaur, are hoping to find their forever home very soon.
