Reggie has been in THE RED DOG PROJECT prison rehabilitation program. That means at least four weeks of fostering with inmate handlers and learning the basics of all around good behavior, potty training and interacting with other dogs.

GENERAL BEHAVIOR AND IDEAL HOME:
Hi, I'm approx 2 and 20ish lbs.
I was found in one of those GA kill shelters that only allows ga licensed rescues to take animals from. It lowers my chances, you know! I was literally skin and bones when rescued and spent several weeks licking floors for crumbs-I couldn't believe I was loved enough to have regular meals but I am loved!
I'm a quiet boy, crate trained and very easy going. I love affection so much I cry in delight when touched.
I get along wonderfully with other dogs but my cat status is unknown.
I'm sensitive and sweet natured. When foster mom pushed me slightly to get me into my crate I cried and those shots! I really cried! I need a gentle touch
GENERAL VETERINARY CARE:
I have been:
~ spayed/neutered
~ microchipped
~ dewormed
~ heatworm-tested negative if dog is of age to be tested ( 6 months or older)
~ up to date on all age appropriate shots
~ treated with a flea preventative
Reggie has been seen by a Connecticut veterinarian and all medical records will come with the adoption papers as well as notes from Reggie's dog handler.

If you would like to begin the application process, please fill in the form at the link above and we will review your information, call your personal and well as vet references. PLEASE Fill in the application if you're interested in adoption. We hope you will understand the careful scrutiny of potential adopters is not only for the safety and well-being of the dog but also for a positive experience for your household. -- A letter from your vet on their letterhead will also be very helpful if they won't be open for us to call as a reference.
-- If you are renting, please note you must have a written letter of permission from your landlord to own a dog on their property.
-- If you have never owned a dog and therefore do not have a vet reference let us know right away and we'll try to do a home visit before the adoption. First time adopters need a quick home visit to make sure they are ready to take a dog home for the first time.
The Red Dog Project dogs will often visit area retailers for a Saturday or Sunday "debut", please email info@reddogproject.org if you would like to be on the mailing list for those events.
