RICHIE's Story...
Richie is just the perfect little lap dog! He was born for the job and he knows it! Richie is a 3 year old, 12 lb. Chihuahua who was picked up as a stray on 2/15/14. He's a sweet boy so we can't imagine how he ended up at the shelter without a family. He is a little shy, but give him a few minutes and he'll be your best bud! He did sit for us when asked, however, he'd much rather be sitting in your lap or being carried around in your arms. Richie is current on his vaccines and upon adoption will be neutered, micro chipped and heartworm tested. His ID # is 563565 and he can be found in cage T3 in the puppy/small dog room.

When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, the names are oftentimes made up by volunteers. This beautiful pet and many others need a forever, loving home and are available for adoption from the Cobb County Animal Shelter, 1060 Al Bishop Drive Marietta, Georgia 30008, call (770) 499-4136 for more information.

Act quickly to adopt RICHIE. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

RICHIE, a Marietta Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
