My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our little Chihuahua mix Mickey is only a year old and unfortunately, he has already suffered so much in his young life. Mickey came to us from our Newark facility in hopes of getting a real, loving home. Mickey was surrendered by his owners because their child had repeatedly abused Mickey, so they finally came to their senses and turned him in. This poor little guy was quite scared upon arrival, and understandably so. He has now realized that he is in a safe place and amongst friends, and that we will never let him get hurt again. Mickey is a bit shy when he meets new people, if you let him check you out and go to you on his own, he will just love you after he realizes that you're ok. Mickey is incredibly sweet and once he makes a friend, his tail wiggles a mile a minute and he will stand on his hind legs to ask you to pet him. Mickey just wants to be respected and treated with kindness. He is very well behaved and walks perfectly on a leash. He will sit when asked and is so very sweet. Mickey doesn't seem to mind other quiet, well behaved dogs, but he would prefer a home with no children under the age of 10. This adorable little guy is so deserving of a fresh start in his young life. Please give him the wonderful home that he's dreaming of. File#23318 2/20/14
