My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Stunning is the word that comes to mind when looking at Polly Patches. Such a beauty! Her pointed erected ears and naturally docked tail gives her a majesty look. She is a nicely patterned Blue Merle with big soft brown eyes a definite catahoula leopard cur in the hound family. She is not at all big at only 41 lbs. and is almost knee high on a five foot person but she can pack a punch with her speed and agility! She instinctively herds as she plays with other dogs- and will nip at their hind legs when she is trying to go a certain way. She would definitely be great if trained in agility or other sport.

She is now pretty much housetrained, with just a few accidents but to be expected as one is learning. She wants to shadow you and be by your side. She will follow you wherever you go. She isn’t to crazy about riding in a car but with more time and experience she will do just fine.

Did I mention she smiles? Yep, a big cute one too!

We do believe she had been abused. She is shy and reserved with strangers but would never bite anyone no matter how mean one got. She loves being petted and very cuddling. She has no food aggression and will share her food bowl with anyone. She is great with other dogs and is very playful. She may have not been around very many dogs in her short young life, she wants to play with them, but isn’t quite sure how to go about, but is learning well.

We believe she will be great with kids just because of her sweet nature and good disposition. She will however be tested with kids and we will see about cats soon.

She has had her vaccinations and is heart worm negative and soon to be spayed. She will be ready to go to her forever home by the second week of March. If you are wanting to adopt this beautiful gal get your applications turned in now. http://www.southernskiesrescue.org/adoption-application/
