Guss's Story...
Quincey and Gus are 9 month old brothers that were surrendered to Friendship because there were too many pets in their family. They were the off-spring of another cat and lived in a heated barn before coming to the shelter. They were around dogs a short period of time too. They are a little shy at first but it doesn't take them long to want to play. Quincey is the gray tabby in the middle and Gus is the orange and white tabby on the right. Rusty on the left of the photo and Quincey the gray tabby have been adopted. Gus the cat on the right is still waiting for a home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Guss, a Elyria Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
