My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jax is a 3 year old 50lb Lab mix who is an excellent boy. He has a unique soft gold coat with honey colored eyes, which make him irresistible and his pictures don't do him justice! He is a loving, outgoing boy who loves all the people he meets. He was originally found wandering the rural roads of TN apparently after being abandoned by his owners and once rescued, spent a year and a half in an outdoor kennel in a foster home in TN. He was well taken care of and certainly lucky to be alive in the kennel, but his stay there was meant to be temporary. For whatever reason, no one was looking his way all this time, so Critter Cavalry sent him north to his current New Hampshire foster home to live in a house, brush up on his manners and hopefully have a change in his luck! Jax comes when called 100% of the time, and always with his tail wagging. He is GREAT with other dogs, but is an attention hog and would love a home as an only dog as well. He takes treats gently from your hand and sits attentively when asked on command. Jax is an energetic boy, but is not jumpy and does not counter surf. He is an excellent listener and is easily corrected, is crate trained and housetrained. He loves to be outside and a fenced yard would be best so he can run off some energy, but he is happier walking beside you or playing in the yard with you watching. Jax does pretty well on a leash and his foster mom has fallen in love with his happy-go-lucky personality. He is learning not to be mouthy when excited with people and other dogs, as he is being corrected by both! He is affectionate, but not overly cuddly, and he needs a home with children old enough to know to be gentle with him and not to smother him, as he takes this as playing and he is learning how not to be rough. His intentions are pure and he is always happy and willing to please. He would love a jogging buddy or to do outdoor activities with his family. Jax is such a good boy and there is no good reason for him having to wait so long for a home to call his own! What would he need from you? Jax needs a home that will give him a chance to shine and to settle in. He is not a stuffed animal, and a change in homes is upsetting if not confusing for him. He adapts well and acts like he has been treated like a king his whole life, but he needs time to relax and establish a new routine in your home. The Jax you will take home on day one is a stressed version of the calmer, easy boy he will become when give the chance. He is loyal, smart and such wonderful company and if you show him love, he will give you unquestioning loyalty and his undivided attention. He is neutered and up to date with vaccines including rabies. ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. CONTACT US AT 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com
