Tessa's Story...
Hound Mix
DOB: 1/08/13
Weight: 30 Pounds

Tessa’s beautiful brindle color and amber eyes draw you right to this lovely dog. She is sweet tempered and full of energy. She loves to go for a walk and spends most of her time sniffing about for whatever might be around.

Tessa is a medium energy dog that will require daily walks and lots of play time. She loves everyone, is friendly with strangers and gets along well with other dogs. Because she possess strong hunting instincts, she may not do well with cats or other non-canine pets.

Tessa would benefit from positive reinforcement training and would do best with a firm, but calm and consistent pack leader. Tessa’s gentle spirit will make a wonderful dog for a family with children, however, she needs to be taught not to jump on children or others.

An active, sociable, affectionate family who enjoy energetic walks and games with their dog would be the ideal forever home for Tessa. She is current on her shots, spayed and micro chipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tessa, a Mountain Center Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Mountain Center, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Mountain Center.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mountain Center already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mountain Center breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mountain Center paves the way for another one to be saved.
