My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, my name is Rusty! I am almost 1 year old and need a home with someone that appreciates my handsome cow print coat and big smile. I was rescued last summer from under an abandoned house where I hide from the hot sun and mean strays.

I am a healthy, house-broken, Beagle/Terrier mix that loves to snuggle and sun bathe. From time to time I help baby sit a toddler that pulls on my ears - I just sit and smile. I prefer to grunt instead of bark, it's kind of my thing. People say it sounds like I am about to talk - we'll see.

I have been trained to walk and jog on a leash, but my big trick is laying down in front of my dinner bowl patiently until I am given the command to eat - yeah pretty cool! I did manage to master pushing open the screen door with my nose while the other 3 foster dogs watched in amazement. I guess I am a natural leader!
