Please welcome adoptable Lila to NBS Animal Rescue. Lila is a very special girl, as she has overcome so much to be here with us, and so many people worked to help this sweet dog to us. When Lila was brought to us, she was too fearful to make eye contact, or even walk. She would just melt to the floor when she was touched, and had to be carried with a towel. Lila never lifted a lip, but would cower in fear when you looked at her. One of our first concerns was that she may have had a medical issue that made leg movement painful.
As it runs out, Lila’s only pains were of the heart – and she slowly started warming up with loving words, gentle ear strokes and some canned food. In only 3 days, we had a very happy, crazy tail wagging, affectionate dog - eager to be loved and touched. All she wants is to be acknowledged and loved. Cases like sweet Lila’s remind us how scary it is to be in a shelter, and how overwhelmingly wonderful it is to simply know you’re safe. Life is not always fair, but not we as a rescue have a chance to change the life she has known into a happy, adoptive story.
Adoptable Lila is only 6 months old, and is full of puppy love. She loves to just be near you – even if you are just doing the dishes, she loyally lays at your feet. The more she has warmed up, the more we have seen the affectionate and completely goofy girl Lila really is. Lila is doing well with her potty training, and already knows sit and lay down (at least with delicious treats she does!) She may be shy at first, but is quick to love and bond with patient people. Please consider Lila, as we hope to give her a new leash on life in a loving home.

My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, De-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food.

You can fill out a simple online adoption application at www.nbsar.org and we will start processing your application right away! We do require that persons interested in meeting me apply online and be approved as an adopter first so please visit our website and submit your application today!
Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on it's vaccinations and heartworm preventative as well as spayed/neutered unless there is a documented medical reason on file with your veterinarian. Dogs must be current on DHLPP, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative, cats must be current on Distemper, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative at the time of application.
