Dozer is a very sweet boy. He loves to play with and be close to his "parents." He loves going on walks. Unless a cat or another dog is nearby, he almost never pulls on the leash. He also LOVES going for car rides. He is very good on car rides as well. Dozer also gets along well with most other dogs. He does like to guard...which depending on the situation, can be a good or a bad thing. He is shy for the first few days until gets to know you, then he is incredibly loving. He becomes very attuned to your moods too. He will try to crawl up into your lap or try to jump into bed with you, though he is pretty good about getting down when you tell him no or off. He thinks he is a 30lb lap dog! He is very food and treat oriented but not aggressive at all with food. He knows to sit and wait until being told "ok." He also does the same when going on leash for a walk. He does know sit, lay down, off and wait. He prefers a quieter home with no kids. About Animal Adoption and Rescue Foundation

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a non-profit, all volunteer, non-euthanizing rescue group out of Richmond, Virginia. We foster out of our homes to socialize the dogs and puppies to a family setting. Adults are house broken, crate trained and up-to-date on all of their medical before they go to their new homes. Puppies are started with their shots and wormings, depending on the age of the puppy as to how much medical is done on them before they go to their new families. All animals will be spayed/neutered before adoption. We rescue all breeds of dogs and puppies, from little ones to big breeds!

Come Meet Our Pets...

We adopt our dogs in the Richmond, Virginia, area. Our stand locations are as follows- Pet Smart at Libbie and Broad on Saturdays from 11:00-3:00

Our Adoption Process...

There is an application process, including filling out the application. We submit it to our screening board and they will call your references, vet's office (if you have other pets), and interview you and your family. Once approved, they call the foster home and give the information to them to set up a time to deliver your new family member and to do a home visit. At that time there is a contract that needs to be read and signed. We also provide you with the pets medical records, the pet will already be spayed/neutered and microchipped, we also give a vet visit certificate. There is a $175.00 adoption fee that is due at time of delivery.
