Henryetta along with her seven littermates were dumped in a shelter full of worms and very sick as tiny puppies. The shelter got them the vet care they needed then contacted us to see if we could take them. Henryetta was originally supposed to stay with us for two weeks then go to a rescue in Maryland, but they backed out at the last minute. Even though we weren't really a dog rescue we decided to keep Henryetta and her littermates rather than return them to a kill shelter and have found homes for all but her and her sister Casey. She's a sweet, wonderful dog with a wonderful personality and lots of energy who loves to be outside and is a good couch dog as well. She is crate trained. Henryetta was adopted once, as was her sister Casey, but neither adoption worked out and they were returned about the same time. We noticed a marked difference in Henryetta and Casey's personalities and behavior when they are together so we have made the decision that they need to be adopted together.

Henryetta is spayed and up to date on shots and heartworm treatment, good with cats and other dogs (after an appropriate introduction period), and ready with her sister to find her new home. Her adoption fee is $50. Please see our Adoption FAQ page for more info, and you can also see her at http://goo.gl/qPTAz4.

About Dot's Place Animal Haven

About Our Rescue Group...

I started out in rescue trying to rehabilitate feral cats, and I've done some good work in that field, but I soon expanded to rescuing all cats that I could. I currently am not accepting any cats for our shelter and in the future will only be accepting on an emergency basis. I've been rescuing most of my life in one form or another, my mother was a rescuer (but we didn't call her that back then!). I've been around animals all of my life and have an affinity and an affection for them. In 2013 we started pulling puppies from Oconee County Animal Shelter for another rescue located in Maryland, who then backed out on us. Rather than return these dogs to a kill shelter we decided to keep them and find good homes for them. Our standards for dog adopters are as stringent as for cat adopters, we only want the best homes for the pets we rescue.

Our Adoption Process...

All adoptions are by application and contract. The adoption fee is dependent on the animal and includes spay/neuter and initial shots. You will be required to give a vet reference and a home visit is ALWAYS required, either before or after the adoption. Our cats are indoor-only and NO declawing is allowed of our adoptions, and we do spot home checks to make sure this rule is followed exclusively.
