Abbie's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, not good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Abbie's Story...

As per the owners:

Abbie is a purebred Australian Cattle Dog who is approximately 5 years old, current on vaccinations and spayed.

She is a big couch potato ,unusual for the breed....low key and easy going. She LOVES kids! Especially little girls, I have small nieces and nephew's whom she licks and loves to death when they come to our place. . She sleeps with them, when they would spend the weekends, and stick to them like glue all the time when they visit..

She has had a active life of camping, trail riding with us and our horses and large property to roam. She loves to swim and play ball as well. She will require a semi-active lifestyle. She's not a 'backyard' kind of dog, since this breed bonds to their people and are often called 'velcro-dogs' because of their need to be with their humans as much as possible.

Abbie must go to a home where she will be the only dog ,as she is very reactive with other dogs in her home ,unless they are much bigger than her and male. She is fine around other dogs outside of her "home". We know she is a great dog ,we just cant see her locked up in a yard area, away from all of us ,to keep the other dog's (and her ).

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Abbie, a Ashland Australian Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Ashland, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Ashland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ashland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ashland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ashland paves the way for another one to be saved.
