Jack's Story...
Jack is a gem. He is gentle, calm, kind and I could tell he was an owner surrender immediately when I met him at the shelter, without having to look at his info. His front leg shook when I bent down to say hello. This was clearly a place he found frightening with strange people always walking by and dogs barking. He was used to a quiet home of his own. I reached my finger in his kennel to scratch his face for a minute and his leg stopped trembling. Jack has gorgeous gold eyes that speak to your soul and grey speckled spots on his front feet that are precious. I couldn't stand the thought of anything happening to this amazing dog so as his time to find a home ran out, he joined our rescue.

Jack is currently in a foster home, waiting for his furever family. Once we were able to spend some time with him outside of the shelter, we loved him even more :) He strolls next to you on a leash and if he sees something interesting, he gets a little bounce in his step. Jack enjoys car rides and will jump right in all on his own. He is very well behaved and does wonderfully with other dogs. There is nothing that is not totally awesome about this dog!

If you're interested in adding Jack to your family, our adoption application can be found posted on our site at tndeathrowdogs.org. Inquiries can be sent to christa@tndeathrowdogs.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jack, a Freeport Flat-Coated Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Flat-Coated Retriever for sale in Freeport, or seeking a Flat-Coated Retriever dog from a breeder in Freeport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Freeport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Freeport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Flat-Coated Retriever breeders who help with Flat-Coated Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Freeport paves the way for another one to be saved.
