My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Phelps! Don't know if I am named for the swimmer, but I think I would probably give swimming my best try! I am a male, year and a half old Plott Hound mix. I weigh about 50 pounds and I have the most beautiful, silky brindled brown and black coat. People are always commenting on how handsome I am, but I'm not letting it go to my head just yet. Volunteers who walk me say I walk like a dream and love to get out about town. I really wanted to play with the dog I went hiking with yesterday in the snow but we compromised on love and kisses for the humans instead. Some new situations may surprise me sometimes but with a little time and more experience I think I can adapt to many new things. I have grown up in the shelter so I'm looking for that special someone to help teach me all the great things to be discovered in this world! Could it be you?
