My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Luke can cast a spell on you. He craves human attention and knows how to be cute to get it. He needs a human that will love him deeply, but still give him structure. He loves everyone that he’s met so far and loves to kiss. He knows his commands and walks nicely on a leash, but obedience class is a must to cement his bond and respect for his human. He is about 14 months old and with proper training can be a truly great dog. He has good house manners and is dog door trained. He crates reasonably well, but prefers to be out with his humans. (If he doesn’t want to go in the crate, he’ll belly up and wiggle with a heart melting grin. So, his human can’t be pushover.) While out on walks he has not reacted to other dogs, even with dogs barking at him. He didn’t even react to a herd of about 8 deer walking up the street. But, cats are a NO GO, or rather Luke is too much all go when it comes to cats. Within his new household, he wants to be the dominant male and has been possessive about food and foster mom, so he would do best as an only dog or paired with a submissive dog. He is untested with small children and he might not accept them as being in charge of him. He is a determined guy that will climb 6’ fencing, but only to follow his foster mom. It is not to roam or escape, just to be with her. He’s only been with her a few weeks, so this behavior could dissipate when he knows that he has a home and that his human will return. It’s tough to lose your home at such a young age and he’s pretty unsettled. He needs a home where someone is mostly home, since for now he needs to be crated or locked inside when left. Also, block wall type fencing or any type of wall that he can’t climb is recommended.
