Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is Bobbin. Bobbin was found as a stray at approximately 14 weeks of age. The lady who found her could not have dogs at her home and had little choice but to take Bobbin to the county shelter. On her drive there, she stopped at every pet store along the way hoping someone would be able to take Bobbin. A Valley Dogs rescuer happened to be at one of those stores showing another dog and agreed to take Bobbin home with her.
Bobbin is a very shy little girl. She may grow out of this, or may always stay a little on the timid side. She is not fear aggressive. She has never growled or nipped in fear, however she will cower and back away slightly when you go to pick her up. However, once you do pick her up she snuggles and cuddles and just wraps herself around you. She loves to sit on your lap and to sleep with you. She is the epitome of a snuggly lap dog.
Bobbin is doing well with learning to use a doggie door and is almost completely housebroken. Once she learns the household routine she does very well in this regard. She has been doing well with learning how to walk on lead and comes when called while she is in the yard.
Due to her current timid nature, Bobbin may do best in a home with older children or younger children who are mature in their understanding of how to deal with a shy dog. A high energy household with lots of people coming and going constantly may not be the best fit.
Bobbin does well with other dogs and after an appropriate introduction and settling in period will do her best to get them to play. She has not yet been exposed to cats.
