My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 3 years
Gender: Male
Color: Black & White
Weight: 38 lbs
Variety: Bench

Gunner, affectionately known as Gunny, is a great little snuggle buddy! During this cold winter, he has wanted to be under the covers to cuddle with his people. Gunner had lived with his previous family since he was a pup, but because their living situation changed, they asked for ESRA's help in rehoming their boy.

Gunner does well with the two resident male Springers in his foster home, as well as with the other foster dogs that come and go. He is a little too interested in the resident cats, so it may be best if he goes to a cat-free Forever Home.

Gunner has not been around little children, and it's possible that he might knock them over in his enthusiasm. He can also be protective of his toys and bones if they are in his mouth, so an all-adult household or one with older kids would be most appropriate for him.

Gunner knows his name and comes when he is called. He knows basic commands and wants to please his people. He is totally housetrained and crate trained, and he rides nicely in the car.

Gunner came to us with complete vet records, which indicated that he earlier had a cracked canine tooth removed. He checked out great at his most recent vet visit, so he is ready to find his Forever Family and share lots of love and snuggles with them. If you think that family might be yours, contact his case managers at the e-mail address below. This handsome, healthy young guy is sure to have lots of inquiries, so don't delay!

Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.

Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Gunner.
