William's Story...
Meet William! Isn't he just adorable and gentlemanly?! His owner surrended him to the shelter so he found himself needing a warm home to become a part of once again. William is housetrained, but does best if he is put outside after he wakes from a nap, after meals, first thing in the morning and last thing before bedtime- typical housetraining needs! William adores his people- loves a good head and ear scratch. He's an easy guy. Just happy to hang around the house with you, and wait for you to come back home to him when you have to leave. William does have a heart murmur, but the vet says all rhythms are normal and he sees no cause for concern. Murmurs are common as dogs get older. He makes a great car companion as he rides very nicely. William really is a super sweet guy who just wants to hang out with you and live his golden years in comfort. Are you that special home William has been searching for? If so, please email info@seniordoghaven.org or you can fill out an adoption application online at www.seniordoghaven.org under the adoption process tab. Thanks for visiting with us!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

William, a Wilmington Schnauzer (Miniature) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Miniature) for sale in Wilmington, or seeking a Schnauzer (Miniature) dog from a breeder in Wilmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Miniature) breeders who help with Schnauzer (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
