Rocco's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, and good with kids.

Rocco's Story...
Rocco is a 1-2 year old, 50 pound border collie mix. He is a long legged athlete with a beautiful and lustrous black and white coat- shiny and well defined like the ebony and ivory keys of a well cared for and often played piano. Rocco is smart, eager to please and responds immediately to instruction as is usually the case with ‘working dogs’ who spend much of their time in the company of and assisting their masters. Active and agile, he would be the perfect companion for a runner, a Frisbee aficionado, a family with a passel of children, or anyone with an active life style.
Rocco is house trained, sleeps quietly in his crate at night and is eager to relocate that crate from his foster home into his forever home- yours maybe? Please contact Rocco's foster family at 225-936-2751 or email them at shansc@cox.net

All dogs adopted through Friends of the Animals are current on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed or neutered prior to adoption. For more information about FOTA or to make a donation, please visit http://www.friendsoftheanimalsbr.org/.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rocco, a Baton Rouge Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Baton Rouge, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Baton Rouge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Baton Rouge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Baton Rouge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Baton Rouge paves the way for another one to be saved.
