Sissy's Story...
Meet Sissy! She is a 3 year old Mini Dapple Dachshund. She was rescued from a puppy mill and has been safe with Mercy for the last month, she had never even seen sunshine or grass before we took her in, just a wire cage. She is crate trained, doing well with house training, and is leash trained. She has been spayed and is up-to-date on all her shots and is heartworm negative. She is CKC registered and weighs 10 lbs. She loves to cuddle, take long naps, and have her belly rub. She is a total sweetheart! She is fine around dogs, but not sure about cats or children. If interested in meeting Sissy, let me know!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sissy, a Marion Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Marion, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Marion.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marion already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marion breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marion paves the way for another one to be saved.
