Poor Tyler was dropped at an overcrowded city shelter by his owners when they decided they no longer had time for him after 12 years of loyalty...and did so on Valentine's Day of all days! Obviously Tyler's unconditional love for his owner was unrequited, and at his age his chances of making it out of the shelter alive were slim. Luckily, 2 senior-loving vet techs visiting the shelter saw him and couldn't leave this sweet gentle soul behind. They got him out just in time- the next day he came down with a severe upper respiratory infection and because of his age and the stress of being dumped he became very ill and had a hard time recovering. They nursed him back to health and he is in desperate need of a home or foster home in which to live out his days... now that he's feeling better his funny spunky personality is starting to emerge. He loves being around people and still has a playful side, but is calm and gentle. He has an adorably crooked face and always looks like he's smiling, although finding a real home would really make him smile...he won't ask for much, just a soft bed and someone who will appreciate all the love he has to give! We do not have a shelter- all our pets are in foster homes and can be seen by appointment only during the week, or at our weekly pet adoptions every Sunday at the Animal Clinic of Morris Plains from 12:30 to 3PM at 3009 Route 10 East next to 5 Star Car Wash (formerly Boulder Car Wash) in Morris Plains (Denville on GPS). Local inquiries only please- we do not do long distance adoptions.
