Paxton's Story...
Paxton is one of three adorable puppies that were all rescued from under a house, by an Animal Control officer and were taken to the shelter before being placed in a FOTA foster home. Paxton is about 8-10 weeks old and he recently weighed in at just over 8 pounds. Paxton's two siblings were quickly adopted and now this little canine-cutie is waiting for his turn to find a loving, forever family!
Here's what Paxton's foster mom has to say about this darling furball: Of the three, Paxton will likely tug your heartstrings the most. He is the most cautious and the most cuddly. Nothing makes him happier than curling up in your lap. Just precious!
For information about meeting or adopting Paxton, please contact his foster mom at kthom53@tigers.lsu.edu.
All dogs adopted through Friends of the Animals are current on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed or neutered prior to adoption. For more information about FOTA or to make a donation, please visit http://www.friendsoftheanimalsbr.org/.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Paxton, a Baton Rouge Labrador Retriever/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Labrador Retriever for sale in Baton Rouge, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Baton Rouge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Baton Rouge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Baton Rouge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Baton Rouge paves the way for another one to be saved.
