My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION

MEET NATHAN....an absolutely adorable, charcoal gray/white, 3 yr old, 13.2 lbs Shih Tzu....with a tail that is always high on his back, fluffy and wagging! When we first got him out of the shelter, he was scared to death. We weren't sure about him but knew he had to get out of that place! For whatever reason, he kept getting passed up....and their loss is our gain. Once in our care, even with a snotty nose and a crumming case of kennel cough, Nathan is a goofy, silly, happy and playful dog! He loves toys...he loves to give kisses...he loves to play with you and cuddle! We've had him on meds and before long, he will be rocking the adoption scene! Nathan is quiet and good with other dogs, but we haven't seen him really playing. He uses pp pads or does his business outside...just needs to be on a schedule. He's a good eater, takes his meds like a champ...but be sure to count your fingers once you give him a treat....we're still working on that! We believe he'd be fine in a home where there are older kids (over 13 yrs old) who will play with him and give him a lot of attention. He can get a teeny bit fearful if a stranger surprises him, but other than that, he is one of the sweetest boys ever. A companion dog would be ideal...but the most important thing would to not leave him alone all day. He'd love to sit by your feet while you are working or chew on his squeeky toy or drop it in front of you to throw for him to fetch! He would not be great in a senior home because he is way too active... Nathan is a wonderful little man and he'd love to be YOUR little man!!

Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID

We will contact you once it has been reviewed.

We currently hold our weekly adoption events every Sunday (unless we are doing a special event) at the WESTFIELD CENTURY CITY MALL located at 10250 Santa Monica Blvd., Century City, Los Angeles 90067. Enter off Santa Monica Blvd and park in the ORANGE section in the parking structure. Take the escalator up and follow the signage. We will be located near the Brooks Brothers (look for the purple tent in the Plaza between the two buildings) from 12 - 4PM

Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household....and do some fantastic shopping at the same time! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring a copy of your application and pictures of your home and yard if we have not done a home check! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting!

Don't forget to check out our Events Calendar for more information on upcoming events!

See our home page for more details about our adoptions at Lhasa Happy Homes.

Thanks for thinking rescue and adoption…and for considering saving a life. It will be the best gift you ever give yourself or your family.
