My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our gorgeous Sophie is Everyman's Golden Girl. This all American beauty came to us from a cold, harsh animal control facility, where she and her lifelong housemate, Ladie, had been surrendered by owners who could no longer care for them.

Typically, owner surrendered dogs have a hard time in the Shelter environment, after losing their home. It must be a shock to the system to have your entire world turned upside down! Sophie came through the rescue process beautifully, revealing herself to be a well adjusted, confident girl. She has been well cared for and socialized.

Sophie is a very dainty and petite yellow Labrador Retriever. Her coat is a light cream color, with tinges of biscuit on her ears and tail. Her features are delicate, and she weighs only 45 pounds. She is an excellent size for a family with younger kids. Sophie loves to play and enjoys lots of human attention. She
is a true family dog, and will not play favorites.

Sophie is the kind of dog that could easily join any kind of home. She would certainly be a joyous addition to an active family, or she could be the ideal companion to an active single or couple. Three years old, Sophie is a medium energy dog, who needs sufficient exercise to maintain her equilibrium. She loves the outdoors, and would be thrilled to be included on walks, hikes or daily runs.

Sophie has great house manners and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect the occasional accident as Soph learns her new routine. She is in excellent health and has been spayed. She is vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, bordatella and canine influenza. She has been microchipped and de-wormed and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis.
