Luke's Story...
Meet Luke, a gorgeous German Shepherd mix we've rescued from an overburdened shelter in Southern Indiana. Luke was a shelter favorite because he's such a nice, easy-going, handsome boy. He's about 1-1/2 years old, 75 pounds, and loves everyone. He's great with other dogs and has never met a dog he doesn't like. Luke also walks well on a leash and enjoys car rides. But his absolute favorite thing is to play ball -- he would happily play ball all day long and would be an awesome companion for an active person or family that would have time to play with Luke and give him lots of love. Luke is also housebroken, neutered, and up-to-date on his shots and microchipped. If you would like to meet Luke, please call Jennifer 630-851-9909 . Because we are a small group of volunteers and home visits are required for adoption, please, local homes only (50 miles of Naperville). No exceptions. Thank you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Luke, a Lombard German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Lombard, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Lombard.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lombard already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lombard breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lombard paves the way for another one to be saved.
