Maddie's Story...
Meet Maddie! She's a 1 ½ year old brown/tan Dobie/Aussie female. She's a very sweet girl on the petite size at 45-50 lbs. Maddie will have you wrapped around her paw after one look with those big brown eyes. She's a very affectionate girl who loves to give kisses and cuddle. She's great with other dogs, but is still learning how to play with them. Maddie is 100% house trained, but we are still working on the crate training.

Maddie and her mate (Eddie - also on the HAHS website) were found in Lee's Summit with a litter of pups. Therefore, we do not know much about her past life, although however rough it was, it has certainly not impacted her sweet disposition.

As HAHS now has several adoption locations, please contact Mark at markbopp-hahs@comcast.net to find out when and where you can meet MADDIE!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maddie, a Overland Park Doberman Pinscher/Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Doberman Pinscher/Australian Shepherd for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Doberman Pinscher/Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Doberman Pinscher/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Doberman Pinscher/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
