My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This dog is being fostered in Dallas, Texas and must be adopted within the Dallas, North Central Texas or Oklahoma City area.

NAME: Renny
GENDER: Male
AGE: 8 Months Old (Born August 2013)
WEIGHT: About 3 pounds
DOGS/CATS: Good with other small dogs, Unknown with cats
CHILDREN: All adult home
CRATE TRAINED: Yes

Renny is a special little guy, and we are thrilled to introduce him to our CRT family.

Originally named Ronnie, this little fella came to CRT when we received a call that his current situation was not good for anyone. His family was being monitored for domestic violence and little Ronnie had suffered some trauma too. His head had been stepped on but luckily not causing any permanent damage. Additionally, his little tail has been broken a couple of times. This little guy is just a few months old, and to have already gone thru so much - wow! Thankfully, his family agreed to surrender him so that he could find a safe home!

With CRT, lives begin to change! To begin this new chapter of his life, Ronnie was renamed Renny! The name Renny means "small of stature", and that definitely describes this 3 pound dynamo!

Renny's life began to immediately improve in his foster home. He was a little shy at first, but with his short life experience, who wouldn't be a little shy? He quickly became happy and carefree once he gained confidence that he was now in a loving stable home and could trust his foster family.

Renny is now used to a routine and looks forward to everything new. He is PUPPY through and through! Renny loves to play with his sibling dogs. He also really enjoys toys and chewies! He stays busy for hours playing with the group, or playing alone - as long as he has toys around he is a happy little guy. After playing, Renny loves to snuggle, every time his foster Mom sits down, there he is! And we do mean every time! This little guy is an energetic love bug!

Renny is eager to learn, but has a stubborn streak that has to be handled delicately since he came from an abusive household. His foster Mom makes him lay on his back in her arms, which is hard for dogs since that is "submission". But Renny is doing really well. He is pee-pee pad trained, and we are working on house training. He is also crate trained - his crate is a "safe house" for him and he feels very comfortable there.

Renny only weighs 3lbs so he will need a home that is knowledgeable of dogs this size. As all of you know, it takes a special person to handle "tinies". Renny is NOT coddled. He is not carried, unless he goes somewhere with his foster family. He is also not "dressed up" - he does not seem to enjoy having clothes put on him.

We are so grateful for the new life Renny has begun with his wonderful foster family. And we know there is a perfect forever family out there looking for someone like him to love. Due to his small size, Renny needs to be adopted into an all adult home.

Renny is neutered, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, HW negative and on heartworm prevention. He is ready to join a loving family - could you be his perfect home?
