My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Shep. He is a german shepherd cross who was born approximately Feb of 2013 and weighs 67 pounds. Shep is like a big teddy bear. He's a pretty quiet dog, (doesn't even bark at the door bell) Everyday he becomes a little more playful as he is learning what it is like to live with a family full-time. He loves to hide his rawhide bones in the house and we still haven't found 2 of them. He is great walking on a leash but he sometimes gets a little playful and grabs the leash when we are walking and tries to take himself for a walk.

Shep is also a very touchy-feely kind of dog - likes to be as close as possible to his human, and has no problem requesting a belly rub or thinking he is a lap dog. He is great in the kennel. He is smart as we are working on the basic commands with him and he is a quick learner.

Shep is a pretty laid back dog who loves to lay at your feet and chew on a bone. He is starting to play more and more with his toys and if you leave a sock or mitt lying around you can be sure he will find it and bring it to you. He loves to go for walks. Shep would do well in an active and fun-loving home, or a quiet and laid back home, He needs a patient home who can continue to teach them lots of new things and that he will come to trust. Shep is good in a home with cats as he tend to ignore them but will occasionally poke his nose a
little too close to check them out. He would do best in a home with school age children as he loves kids!! If you are looking for a giant lap dog Shep would be a perfect addition to your home.
