Xena in SC's Story...
Xena in SC

Xena is a 3 year old female that was rescued from being tied to a tree. Xena is very social with people and other male dogs. (has not been around female dogs) She is NOT good with cats or small dogs. Xena is house broken and crate trained. Likes her ball and toys and a fabulous fetcher. She is good on a leash, consistent with sit, down, get out and pretty good with wait. Come is still hard. She has pretty high energy without that neurotic/anxious/nervousness that we often see with rescues. Now that she's feeling more secure in her foster she will take a nap if we aren't doing anything interesting. She is very persistent, sweet and affectionate.
Xena is altered, current on vaccines, heartworm negative, free of internal and external parasites, and micro-chipped. She is located in SC but NADSR does adopt out nationally. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out our ON-LINE Pre-Adoption application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Xena in SC, a Jamestown Dutch Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dutch Shepherd for sale in Jamestown, or seeking a Dutch Shepherd dog from a breeder in Jamestown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jamestown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jamestown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dutch Shepherd breeders who help with Dutch Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jamestown paves the way for another one to be saved.
