Baxter is one of those Beagle boys that will make your heart melt in two seconds. This sweet 18 month old, 30 pound boy had a tough hand of cards dealt to him recently when his owner’s home burned down and they never came back to get him from the backyard. Baxter and two other Beagles were deserted like the ash and rubble left behind from the fire. The neighbors realized that dogs were still there when they began to cry out for help after days of no one going to feed or water them. This loving and handsome boy just wants to lay his head on your chest and get hugs and reassurance. He is shy when you go to pet him on top of the head. He then rolls over on his back for a belly rub and to show he is submissive and ready to do as you wish. He is good with cats, all other dogs of any size and he is housetrained and crate trained. Baxter will make a wonderful dog for any sort of family; kids, no kids, a person who hikes and runs. He is ready for a forever friend to reassure him he will never be left behind again. Is that you?
