Hi my name is Leroy. I am a 2 year old Black and Tan Coonhound. I weigh 60 lbs. I am a wonderful boy who would be an excellent companion for an active family. I was rescued from an abusive situation in Tennessee. My "dad" was beating me because I kept jumping the fence. Well I kept jumping the fence because I was trying to get away from him. Miss Carrie had been trying to get pictures of me for weeks and finally learned the week of March 3, the reason I was not available--my face was swollen. As soon as she heard that, she scooped me up and took me to her sister who is fostering me until I can find my forever home. I am surprisingly unscathed from this abuse. I am super sweet and I love people. I am also fine with men despite what I have been through. I love to be petted and lean into you for more love. I am a strong boy so I need someone that can handle me. I am housetrained and learning that the crate is a good place. I know "no" and am working on "come". I am still looking for the place over the fence but do respond when told not to. I now know that I will get lots of love when I do not jump over the fence. So as you can imagine a fenced in yard is a requirement for me (not only do I jump but I am a scent Hound and my nose can get me in trouble as I do follow it). It would be ideal for me to have a privacy fence. An active family is also a must as I need exercise and a job to do. If you are looking for a wonderful boy to add to your family and someone with lots of love to give then you have found him in me. I have been neutered and am current on all my shots and microchipped.
