Homer's Info...

Homer's Story...
Homer is about 2-3 years old, and huge (about 16 lbs) and fluffy and 100% cuddle bug. He's very affectionate and calm, and just fits in wherever he is. His previous humans fed him well, and had him neutered, but surrendered him to a very high kill shelter. We were able to get him out and so happy we did! He will sleep in your arms for an hour if you let him. He has the most incredible furry, fluffy cheeks and is medium to long hair. He is FIV+ but this in no way impacts his health or his ability to live with non FIV+ cats.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Homer, a Houston Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Houston, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
